At around 3:00pm (15:00), Patricia telephoned her aunt in Montevallo to say that her brother in law, William Lamar Mills, was going to show her a trailer near Jemison, AL. Her car was later discovered abandoned in the parking lot of a shopping center along Alabama 25. Inside were her purse and gun. In 1995, Mills confessed to the murder, stating that he strangled her and buried her in Chilton County, Alabama. At the time, Mills was in jail, altready charged with the murder of a hotel owner.
