- Notes
- Emmetta stopped by to see her mother and sister while arranging plans to meet the two for shopping the following day. She left after telling them she was planning to go shopping for her baby daughter's shoes with her estranged husband ("L"). The following morning, Emmetta's sister arrived to find the infant naked and sobbing on the floor of the home and no one else inside the house although the house was locked. Close to the baby was an empty baby bottle and a dirty diaper. Further searches revealed that Emmetta's keys and her bedspread had been taken while the home smelled of a chemical that migh thave been ether. L later testified that he had taken Emmetta and their baby at around 6:30pm (18:30) to the nearby Roebuck shopping mall. They visited Brookwood Village to pick up the shoes and then grabbed burgers at a shop on the Green Springs Highway. According to L, they then returned to Emmetta's home where he left after 20-30 minutes when Emmetta said she planned to have dinner with her ex-husband ("W"). W reported to police that they did in fact arrange to have dinner together but that Emmetta never arrived and did not answer his numerous calls. There has been no sign of Emmetta since.
