- The victim's age is reported as being between 61 - 63 (born 1896 or 1897). On October 22, George Weeden and Meryl Newcombe road a train going west towards Amyot, Ontario. They planned to enjoy a hunting trip together while staying in a lodge that Meryl's family owned along Mile 107 of the CPR railway line. They were last sighted still on the train by crew and two other witnesses somewhere between the mile points 106 and 107, close to their stopping point. Police were informed when the two failed to return for work between October 27-29. The exact date they disappeared is unknown.
