Circumstances

- January 26, 1997
- Notes
- Floyd left his home on Sunny Eve Road that night at approximately 9:00pm (21:00) on his way to a Super Bowl Party at the Red Horse Lounge in Anniston. He did not arrive at the club and has not been seen since. He ex-wife was the last person to see him that day. He was driving a blue 1990 Dodge Caravan which was later discovered in the parking lot of Georgia’s Welcome Center on I-20. Floyd’s next-door neighbor, Jack David Stovall II (Jackie) became a suspect in Floyd’s disappearance. It appears he blamed Floyd and two other men (Barry Jackson and Daryl Adams) of breaking into his home and stealing thousands of dollars worth of cash, weapons, and jewelry. Shortly after Floyd disappeared, Daryl was found murdered, shot in a limousine in Anniston. Jackie was then arrested six months later for attempting to hire a hit on Barry Jackson as well. Jackie and the hit man set up a meeting at the same Georgia Welcome Center to arrange the homicide. During their discussion, Jackie stated that he had already killed the other robbers, likely alluding to Floyd and Daryl. Police believe Floyd is also deceased and his remains hidden by Jackie.
