Circumstances
- Date of Disappearance
- November 30, 2000
- Notes
- On Thursday, November 30, 2000, Travis was last seen in Huntsville, Alabama. He was riding in a Red 2001 Ford Pickup Truck with another man, Alfred 'Sonny' Hardy III when he was last seen. This vehicle was later recovered in Cullman County but the owner said he did not know what happened to Massey. Hardy was later arrested and charged with the murder of another man (Derwin Tyrone Hawk) the same month (November 2000); he supposedly killed Hawk at a home on Medaris Road and Massey might have been a witness. Hardy continues to claim he was framed for the crime, but he was ultimately convicted. Police have not charged Hardy with connection to Massey's disappearance but it is believed he may hae been involved. It is also possible that there was a later sighting of Masset with three unidentified males (two Caucasian, one African American). Travis may be in the Birmingham, Alabama area. He may have had a mustache, beard, or goatee.
