Notes
Sherry was spending the day with a friend in Birmingham when she disappeared. They were driving along I20 / 59 when they took Exit 121 at Ensley at around 2:00am to stop at the Exxon gas station to grab matches. According to her girlfriend, she ran into the gas station to buy the matches but when she came out, Sherry had driven away. She then claimed to receive two phone calls, one from Sherry saying that she would return shortly and another thirty minutes later saying that she was lost. A witness said instead that the two women were arguing and that the girlfriend stormed out of the car and called her husband to take her home, at which point Sherry drove away. Neither testimony has been confirmed. Between 2:00am - 2:30am, Sherry called her boyfriend, David Burt, approximately ten separate times but was not able to reach him because he was sleeping. She left a final message for him saying "Help me, please. Where are you? This is unbelievable!" She has not been seen or heard from since. Her vehicle, a 1994 canary yellow Mustang convertible, was later found at 9:00pm (21:00) on the following day (August 15) in Midfield, Alabama along 41st street and Industrial Boulevard. This was approximately 5 miles southwest of Ensley where she disappeared. Key persons of interest were Andrew Givens from Docena, Alabama; Nathan Doss; and Bryant O'Neal Craig. It is not public knowledge why these men were named or whether they have currently been ruled out. If you know of Ms. Miltons whereabouts, please contact Crimestoppers or Birmingham Police Department. Governor Bob Riley is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the disappearance of Sherry Milton.
