Notes
Norbert was suffering from insomnia and depression before he disappeared. He was under treatment and had been seen by a neurologist on November 25. He was taking medication include antidepressents. On November 28, he was struggling to sleep and left the home at 9:30pm (21:30). He returned after midnight and told his wife that he had been riding the train in an effort to calm down. This was unusual for him. The following day, he told his wife that he was struggling mentally and physically and that his symptoms seemed to be getting worse. His wife tried to reason with him, but he refused to listen to her. He suddenly came into the room, fully dressed, stating that he was leaving and she did not understand him. He walked out the door at approximately 8:20pm (20:20) and did not return. He carried only a backpack and his cell phone was turned off. He took with him a driver's license, his ID, and his E-card. He carried no credit or bank cards. His wife unknowingly took a sleeping pill to calm down and planned to speak with him again the following morning. She went to sleep around midnight and does not know if he returned (though nothing suggests that he did). On December 2, after repeated attempts, Ms. Raidl was able to file a police report. He was seen on the U3 twice, once at a bakery in Floridsdorf on December 8 and once on the subway on December 9th. Another witnesses claimed to have spoken with him on January 29, but he appeared very confused.
