- Notes
- Joanne Ratcliffe and Kirste Gordan were both attending the South Australian National Football League game with their families. Joanne was attending with her parents and Kirste with her grandmother. The families both held season passes and had been sitting side by side for weeks, so they all felt comfortable allowing Joanne to walk Kirste to the restroom. They had gone to the restroom together earlier in the game, but Kirste asked to go again so Joanne walked her. The girls failed to return and a search was put into place. The families learned that several witnesses had seen the children leaving the arena with an unidentified male. Three of the witnesses though Joanne seemed upset. Joanne, Kirste and the unknown man were also seen about 90 minutes later outside of the arena approximately 3km away. The man has never been identified.
