Notes
Rebecca was born sometime around 1943. Rebecca and her friends were originally meant to attend a football game occurring up in New Castle, Penn. Unfortunately, one of the group didn’t have enough money so they decided to relocate to a dance party being held at the Workingman’s Beneficial Union in Ambridge, Penn. Rebecca left the event at approximately 11:30pm (23:30) on her own and was apparently looking for a ride. She apparently told a couple of friends that she planned to meet someone at the local theater and perhaps she planned to get a ride from them. Two teenage boys leaving the party at the same time spoke with her at the theatre so she made it that far. According to the boys, an older man in his 30s that they did not recognize was loitering nearby and offered her a ride home. Concerned the boys told him that he was too old to be offering her a ride alone at night, so the man walked away. Someone must have given her a ride though it is not clear if they believe this was the same older man from the theatre. Rebecca was last seen riding in a Gold and White 1957 Plymouth with a man approximately 10 years older than her outside the Route 88 Drive-In Restaurant in Harmony, Penn. She never arrived at home and has not been seen since. A local Ambridge man and knife salesman, Frank Senk, was later arrested when his car matched the description of the vehicle in question. Blood and red hairs were found in the car but could not be matched to Rebecca given limited technology of the time. He claimed the hair came from his nieces and the blood was his own. Senk refused a lie detector test but claimed he did not recognize Rebecca. He had an alibi established by his girlfriend who put them at a football game when Rebecca disappeared. Senk was later convicted of the 1962 death of Jane Benfield (age 13) and died in prison. He never admitted to killing Rebecca and was never actually proven to have a connection to the case despite the circumstantial information.
