- Notes
- Rose left his home along Alabama Avenue at approximately 10:00pm (22:00). He had told his girlfriend that he planned to return shortly to watch a movie with her but that he had an errand to run first. He was driving her light-colored Toyota Camry at the time. He never returned, but the following day police discovered the vehicle parked along Saint Phillips Street. Rose had been part of the Saint Phillips Boy's, a local gang in that area, and had been jained for related weapons charges. After leaving prison, he had attempted to turn his life around and was avoiding the gang and the Saint Phillips Street neighborhood. Furthermore, there is some question as to whether he had testified against the gang during their sentencing after they were rounded up on drug charges in August 2006. This means the car being parked there was extremely unusual. Rose had told his family he wanted to leave Selma and move to Atlanta, Georgia where his brother lived; however, he struggled to find work with his disability. He has not been seen since.
