- Rushton had been having a difficult time having recently resigned from her job and after arguing with her husband earlier that day. Prior to leaving, she was behaving abnormally, crying and upset while staring blankly according to her daughter. She then said she was going to go play cards with her friends before driving away. Neither she nor her vehicle has been found, her bank accounts and Social Security number were left unused after that. Her brother-in-law was an aide to the governor of Alabama but it is unclear if that had any impact. She did suffer from diabetes and may have become confused.
