- Notes
- She stayed home from school that day due to being slightly ill, but felt well enough to go visit her grandmother around 11;30am. She was planning to walk the short block between her home and her grandmother's but she didn't arrive. There were witnesses at the time who claimed to see a little girl being carried to a car by a young, lighter-skinned African-American male. The car was a black Chevrolet (1948 - 1950). The last sighting was along Lewis Street by Gilkey Creek. Children from Adele's school had also reported seeing the vehicle with a man who tried getting them to enter the car. There were other witnesses from her school who thought they saw a man pushing Adele into a white and pink car (late model with large fins) on the same day.
