- Rida told his family that he wanted to travel around Berlin and Austrai for his birthday. He originally asked his mother to accompany him, but she was busy watching her other children. They did however video call one another every few hours. He called her and was fine, then three hours later at approximately 7:00pm (19:00), he called in a panic. Begging his mother for help, he said he was lost and that his fingers were numb and he was feeling chest pains. He also was reportedly feeling faint. There was no contact with Rida after that. According to witnesses, Rida was walking up the mountain from Café Testa Rossa at approximately 10:30am and then he was last seen walking near the Höttinger Alm. He may have followed one of three separate hiking trails (Trail 215, Trail 505/506, or Trail 06/216). There is nothing to suggest he took a gondola, nor did he appear to be following a particular path; more like he was wandering across the meadow. His phone signal was last picked up in the Sill Gorge. His laptop, passport, and clothes were later found in his hotel room.
