The Plot
At the dawn of the 20th century, a young Zhang Qishan and his father are subjected to cruel experiments by the traitorous warlord Zuo Qianzhi. Ten years later, fueled by a desire for revenge and the need to protect his family secrets, Zhang Qishan arrives in Changsha for the first time. There, he encounters Er Yuehong, a young opera master with extraordinary skills. Despite their initial friction, the two form an unlikely alliance to dismantle Zuo Qianzhi’s tyrannical rule and uncover the truth behind a mysterious “monster” that Zuo is using to threaten the city.
Their investigation leads them through a series of dangerous “escape rooms” and hidden underground lairs designed to keep the warlord’s secrets buried. As they navigate lethal traps and battle genetically altered experiments, the film explores the awakening of Zhang Qishan’s Qiongqi tattoo and the birth of his reputation as “Fo Ye”. The story culminates in a high-stakes struggle to save Changsha from the supernatural and political threats looming over its residents, solidifying the bond between the future masters of the Mystic Nine.
