Three young people dressed in formal clothes are found murdered in a remote nature reserve, their bodies posed as if part of a strange ceremony. The unusual crime puzzles Wallander, but before he can make sense of it, one of his own colleagues disappears under suspicious circumstances, turning the case into something far more personal.
