Disappearance

Date of the Disappearance*: June 12, 2015

Description: Thanh Van Bui is believed to have been brought from Vietnam to Scotland as a victim of human and slave trafficking. He was first located in May during a police raid on an old building in Scotland Street on the South Side of Glasgow. Inside police found multiple rooms containing 700+ cannabis plants, worth approximately £300,000, along with Thanh and an unidentified male (45) of Vietnamese descent. It is unclear if the man is the person who brought Thanh to Scotland or if Thanh had any other contacts in the area.

Thanh was temporarily placed in a home in the area of Pollokshields, but he appears to have run away on June 12. He was headed towards the Glasgow Central railway station where he purchased a ticket for England. He was reportedly last seen by in town at around 7:45am that morning before CCTV picked up footage of him at the train station around 12:15 pm.
