Wu Xie is pulled back into the perilous world of tomb exploration after discovering a mysterious note left by his missing third uncle, Wu Sanxing. The note leads him to a hidden excavation tied to the mysterious South Sea King Tomb, a legendary burial site said to hold secrets that could unravel the tangled web of the Zhang, Wu, and Xie family lineages. Joined by his trusted friends—Zhang Qiling, Wang Pangzi, and others—Wu Xie journeys deep into the southern provinces of China, where dense jungles guard ancient mausoleums and forgotten cults still whisper old truths. Their path takes them first to the mysterious Wuwang Hill and later into the waterlogged tomb beneath the Genting Palace ruins, where history and myth blur together, and every sealed door conceals a deadly choice.

As they uncover ancient manuscripts and decipher puzzles carved into jade and stone, the group begins to suspect that the tomb’s guardians—both human and supernatural—are not only protecting treasure, but hiding the truth about Zhang Qiling’s origins and the experiments carried out by the mysterious “十一仓” (Warehouse 11). Beneath each layer of the South Sea King’s resting place lies evidence of a grand conspiracy rooted in forbidden research and lost memories. Wu Xie must contend with betrayal from within, reawakened foes from past expeditions, and the weight of his uncle’s cryptic intentions. As the team pushes deeper into the tomb’s depths, each step forward brings them closer not only to the truth of the South Sea King, but to the grim realization that some secrets were buried for good reason.
