The story follows Hei Yanjing, a legendary explorer whose eyesight is rapidly deteriorating due to a mysterious chronic illness. His close friend and head of the Xie family, Xie Yuchen, leads an expedition into the treacherous Mu-Ma-Lu jungle in search of a rare, bioluminescent insect rumored to possess miraculous healing properties that could save Hei Yanjing’s sight. However, the mission goes dark, forcing a reluctant and half-blind Hei Yanjing to head into the jungle himself to rescue his friend and the missing team.

Their investigation leads them deep underground into a massive Nanyue palace that serves as a tomb for an ancient, forgotten tribe. The ruins are guarded by the Nagas, colossal and terrifying serpent-like creatures that have inhabited the abyss for centuries. As the team becomes trapped by hallucinogenic pheromones and shifting mechanical traps, they must navigate the blurred lines between myth and reality. The film culminates in a high-stakes battle for survival where Hei Yanjing must rely on his heightened senses and his unbreakable bond with Xie Yuchen to defeat the primordial guardians and escape the abyss alive.
