The story follows Huo Youxin, a descendant of the Mystic Nine’s Huo family, as she investigates the mysterious death of one of her subordinates. Her investigation leads her to Wu Shan Ju, the antique shop owned by Wu Xie, where she confronts the shop’s manager, Bai She. During their confrontation, both unintentionally become infected with a bizarre and deadly affliction that causes scales or growths to appear on their skin. 

Unable to find a medical cure, the two are forced to put aside their differences and seek guidance from Wu Xie. On his advice, they travel to a mysterious, remote cave to find the source of the infection and a potential remedy. Their journey leads them to uncover a tragic ancient legend involving a “Clam Man” (Bang Ren) and a series of cryptic puzzles hidden within the cave’s depths.

#️⃣ There are many prequel, sequel, and side stories in the Grave Robber Chronicles universe. This particular movie is non-canon but is considered a side story to one of the larger sequels (Sand Sea | Sha Hai).

The first few volumes of the main story has been adapted into a series of English Translated volumes and one graphic novel. There is no official English publication of the prequels or sequels.
