Description of Recovery
The victim was found inside a railroad car located at O'Neal Steel. The car was initially loaded (and checked) at Northwestern Steel and Wire Company in Sterling, Illinois on September, 29, 1997. It reached Birmingham on October 28, 1997 and sat in the O'Neal Steel lot until November 1 when it was unloaded and the remains were discovered. It is not clear if he boarded the car in Illinois, somewhere on route, or in Birmingham.
