Notes

Early March 3, 1956, brothers Billy Howard and Robert Earl Dye and their older cousin, Dan Brasher, left Dan’s mother’s house in Billy’s 1947 Ford. They were last seen headed down Crooked Creek Road but neither they nor the vehicle were ever found. Family members believe the men were victims of a moonshine ring and were killed in a conflict concerning stolen whiskey. Foul play is suspected in their disappearances.
