Judie was last seen at her work aroud 5:00pm (17:00) on April 1before disappearing. Her vehicle (a van) was later found abandoned behind her pet store (AniMall) at around 9:00am the following day. Her husband (Albert Leonard Wilding) initially stated that Judie had left along with her personal belongings (photos, credit cards, wallet, driver’s license, wedding ring, etc.). However police later found all of those items in her bedroom and in a locked safe deposit box that Albert accessed after she vanished. In August 2008, Albert was charged with her homicide, accused of killing her for life insurance policies he was maintaining on her. Prior to that day, the two were in a poor marriage, sleeping separately, fighting often, and considering divorce. Albert had previously been convicted of killing his mother in law in Kentucky in 1970 where he was sentenced to 21 years for beating, choking, and stabbing her to death. The Kentucky Governor shortened his sentence and Albert only served one year. On February 2011, Albert confessed to Judie’s homicide stating that he returned home to find her preparing to leave him and he shot her accidentally. He said her remains were abandoned around the area of Lake Martin.
